Question & Answer
Question
Why am I receiving abends AD2R and 0C4 when running CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) with CA Detector for DB2 for z/OS V19.0?
I receive this message:
DFHDU0201 ABOUT TO TAKE SDUMP. DUMPCODE: AD2R , DUMPID: 1/0004
When I use IPCS command VERBX DFHPD690 'TR=1' (where "690" is for CICS TS 5.2) to display the CICS trace in the system dump of the abend AD2R, trace shows the CICS-DB2 attached TCB connection that processes the DB2 request for this transaction has abended. This is the 'AP 319D' exception trace entry I see:
AP 319D D2EX1 *EXC* THREAD TCB HAS ABENDED WITH
ABEND CODE(000000C6) REASON CODE(185C2A00)
Answer
Apply PTF RO97255 for CA Detector for DB2 for z/OS Version 19.0 to resolve the AD2R abend and 0C4.
To verify that you are experiencing the same problem, you can use IPCS command IP SYSTRACE to display the system trace in the AD2R abend. The system trace shows PTXMAN is the primary ASID(x'0333') when the S0C4 occurred:
