While logging into the Datacap Navigator getting error message as “User name and password is incorrect / Invalid”. What is the first step to troubleshoot?

First confirm the problem is limited to Datacap Navigator. If other clients also cannot login, the one with the most direct path to the Taskmaster Server is the one to troubleshoot.
Second, the Taskmaster Server service handles all authentication requests from all clients, so check the tms log to see what gets posted there.
Third, if the problem is only with Datacap Navigator, recognize that it is running on Content Navigator and goes through the wTM service. So check the ICN SystemOut.log to see if there is a problem in Content Navigator, and the wTM log, to see if there was a problem processing the login request.
Finally, if you see any suspicious entries, search the IBM Support site online. There are many possible causes of login failure, but some have solutions online if you have an error you can search on.
