CICS stops creating SMF 110 records when using OMEGAMON

Question

Why would CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) stop creating SMF 110 records even though CICS Monitoring in ON? I have the following parameters in the CICS system initialization table (SIT) :

MN=ON,
MNPER=ON,

CICS command CEMT INQUIRE MONITOR shows:

 **Status( On )**    
   **Perfclass( Perf )**

But CICS is not writing SMF 110 records. I use IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE for CICS to monitor the region.

Answer

OMEGAMON XE for CICS will prevent CICS SMF 110 records from being written to the SMF file when the OMEGAMON Global Data Area parameters are WRITE_SYSTEM_RECORDS=CMF and CICS_CMF_WRITE=NO.

You should review your CICS and OMEGAMON monitoring options to ensure that they are correctly set.
