Question & Answer
Question
We installed a new Linux server with ITM TEMS and seeded the TEMS with OMEGAMON CICS application support, but we are still seeing this message in the RKLVLOG for the agent:
KCPPA0555E The HUB TEMS does not have application support for the OMEGAMON CICS product.
When we do the /opt/IBM/ITM/bin ./cinfo -i, we see the application support is installed and at the correct level. Why am I getting this message?
Answer
There is a intermittent issue with applying application support using SDA or manually for OMEGAMON CICS since this product ships tables in RKCPDEFW.DB and RKCPDEFW.IDX files. The base (empty) RKCPDEFW.* files are shipped with ITM (TEMS code) but OMEGAMON CICS populates these files via application support and the "seeding" the TEMS process. There seems to be a timing issue where this "seeding" process says that it seeded successfully but the RKCPDEFW file is still empty.
Work around:
I) Manually reinstall the application support for OMEGAMON for CICS (reply Y to do you want to install the same support message) and check RKCPDEFW to make sure it has CICS information in it. You can also check to see if the date changed. To find these files they will be in: /opt/IBM/ITM/tables/
II) If using SDA, you have two choices:
a) Have IBM send you a new copy of RKCPDEFW.IDX and RKCPDEFW.DB (open a PMR)
b) Run the kcp.sql manually by using ITM's kdstsns program. Below are the instructions:
Instructions for running kcp.sql manually:
This file can be found in the default directory: /opt/IBM/ITM/tables/cicatrsq/SQLLIB
Change to the correct directory --> cd /opt/app/IBM/ITM/aix523/ms/bin
Run the "kdstsns" program as follows: ./kdstsns
The following will appear, where you will type in your TEMS IP or host name. Enter host name/address: X.X.X.X (IP address) or hostname
Enter NCS Server Port Number (eg. 1024, ....):1918
Enter SQL member name (or "end" to quit) ... kcp.sql
Enter: "end"
Restart TEMS. (Restart needed for changes to take effect).
