Why am I seeing message DFHHC0101I CICS has registered successfully to the z/OS Health Checker in one of my CICSPlex SM address spaces (CMASs). I started seeing DFHHC0101 in CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V5.3 after applying the maintenance in RSU1712. I need to understand what is triggering this message and what the relationship between the z/OS Health Checker and CICS is.

I need to understand what triggered message DFHHC0101I and why?
When the z/OS Health Checker first runs, CICS will register to z/OS Health Checker. If it has been registered successfully, DFHHC0101 message will be received.
What is the relationship between CICS TS and the z/OS Health Checker?
z/OS Health Checker is running in its own address space. Once CICS registers successfully, CICS Health Checker will check definitions periodically and update the z/OS Health Checker.
What benefits does the z/OS Health Checker provide to CICS?
A new function called CICS HEALTH CHECKER has been added by CICS TS 5.3 APAR PI76965 (PTF UI49544 or RSU 1712) and it is also in CICS TS 5.4 base. This APAR introduces 3 new Health Checker for z/OS checks aimed at checking that your CICS regions are correctly configured to stop an unauthorized user from submitting JCL to run under the region userid. These new checks are called:
- CICS_CEDA_ACCESS
- CICS_JOBSUB_SPOOL
- CICS_JOBSUB_TDQINTRDR
