Question
How can I make CICS definitions available so I can manage my CICS System Definition (CSD) file from CICS Explorer? I have added a CMCI connection to one of my CICS regions and am able to successfully connect and view in-memory transactions, bundles, files... However, I do not see a "Definitions" menu bar option.
When I go to customize the perspective, and click the check box for "CICS Definitions," I receive the error message:
"CICS Definitions" cannot be made visible because it is in the unavailable "null" action set.
I am running Windows 10 - fresh install of 32 bit aqua-3.0.1-im-1.8.5001 and installed IDz 14.0.0.6, CICS Explorer 5.3, MQ explorer, and z/OS Explorer.
Answer
From within CICS Explorer, navigate to Window > Preferences > General > Capabilities.
... and if the "CICS System Administration" check box is unchecked, check it, click Apply, and OK then the "Definitions" menu bar item should display in the tool bar for the CICS SM perspective.
