I ran into MAXMODELPARAM error while using Multiple Imputation on SPSS for the missing variables. I typed MAXMODELPARAM= and gave the desired number 9400, 600, 800) at the end of the IMPUTE subcommand. I increased the number of parameters even up to 1000 though I am not sure if this is Ok to increase up to 1000. However, I get the same error: “the imputation model for age contains more than 1000 parameters”. I cannot move forward with my analysis before I solve this issue.

Without knowing the specifics of your variables and imputation options, it is impossible to give a definitive anwer. However, it is likely that this arises because you have a continuous (scale) variable that has been assigned a categorical (nominal, ordinal) measurement level. That could hugely increase the number of parameters required for the imputation.
So check the levels. If that isn't the problem, you will need to simplify the imputation.
