Question & Answer
Question
The above error occurs when pagent starts and attempts to the process the tcpimage statement. It is also accompanied by pagent messages :
EZZ4249I TCPIP INSTALLED xxxx POLICY HAS NO RULES
and
EZD1586I PAGENT HAS INSTALLED ALL LOCAL POLICIES FOR INET
Answer
The errors only occur in a single TCPIP stack environment defined as INET in BPXPRMxx. The following TCPIMAGE statement was coded in the pagent.conf file:
TcpImage TCPIP /etc/xxxx.conf FLUSH PURGE 900
In the above TCPIMAGE statement TCPIP was in fact the jobname of the actual TCPIP address that was running, yet Pagent used a default name of INET. The reason this occurred is Pagent used a __IPTCPN() call to locate a TCPData file that contains the TCPIPJOBNAME statement. This call failed to locate a TCPDate file that contained a TCPIPJOBNAME statement. The issue can be resolved in one of the following ways...
1) Code a GLOABALTCPDATA file/dataset in the RESOLVER configuration that has a valid TCPIPJOBNAME statement coded
2) If a GLOABALTCPDATA is not used, code the valid TCPIPJOBNAME statement in /etc/resolv.conf as Pagent will use this file for it's resolver info
3) Code INET as the TCPIP jobname on the TCPIMAGE statement
