Question

Why did I start receiving the following abend0C4 during shutdown after upgrading to CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V5.4?

DFHAP0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'FFFFFFFF' in module DFHSTP

The abend only occurs when running with a vendor product from Dynatrace.

Answer

Dynatrace supplied a fix for the abend0C4 abendAKEA in DFHSTP at CICS shutdown.

Reviewing a system dump, you will see the domain gate for module DFHPGLE has been overlaid. An address in the domain gate is pointing to boot strap code that eventually takes you to a vendor module ZDTAGT71 from Dynatrace.

Contact Dynatrace Support for the fix if you find that the error only occurs when running with the Dynatrace product.
