Standing up new test environment best practice?

Question by eposada  (1) | Dec 06, 2018 at 05:36 PM ilmtdb2bigfix

We're in the process of trying to set up a new test environment so we can test an upgrade of ILMT to 9.2.13. What is best practice in this scenario if we want to mimic the production environment? We have created a test database and app Linux server (production is running on Linux as well). We also have access to the tar of our old version of ILMT that we can install, but were wondering how to proceed with creating the databases...is it integrated into the app installation? We will be going from 9.2.2 to 9.2.13.

You may backup your database in production and restore it in test prior to upgrading ILMT. Here's the link for reference:

Yes I saw that in the documentation, but using the all-in-one installer will create the databases already. And if the backup of the production database is used, will it not require production infrastructure of BigFix? Or can it be used with a new test install of the BigFix server.

Are you using a different license/masthead for the test environment install?

I believe a new one was requested for the DB2 install yes, is that not correct?

I meant the BigFix license. Are you using different BigFix licenses PRD and TST?
