Why do I get the following exception when starting z/OS Connect EE 03.00.12/wlp-1.0.21.cl180220180619-0403) on IBM J9 VM,version 8.0.5.15 ?

ÝERROR ¨ CWWKE0701E: Ýcom.ibm.zosconnect.wola.factory(526)¨ The setResourceFactoryRef method has thrown an exception Bundle:com.ibm. zosconnect.wola(id=257) java.lang.NullPointerException at com.ibm.zosconnect.wola.internal.WolaServiceFactory. setResourceFactoryRef(Unknown Source) at Ýinternal classes¨

Answer

This CWWKE0701E message occurs if the WOLA "zosconnect_localAdaptersConnectService" definitions have been removed, but the "zosLocalAdapters-1.0" feature is still configured in the server.xml.

This problem has been resolved as of APAR PH05647: z/OS Connect EE V3.0.16.0
