DFHDS0001 ABEND0C4 AKEA DFHDSKE when running with TMON

Question

I am running CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V5.3 with ASG-TMON from ASG Technologies, and receive the following error message:

DFHDS0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'FFFF' in module DFHDSKE.

The offset x'FFFFF' means the program check occurred elsewhere. In this case, it occurred in an ASG-TMON module TM7N952.

Answer

This is resolved by ASG TMON PTF TH04172.

The dump showed the program check occurred when running in 64-bit addressing mode. Transaction CJSA was in the process of initializing. The BEAR pointed to Module TM7N952 + X'3BD0', and was attempting to Branch to the value in R15- 000001EF_38F85001. In this case the left most word contained invalid data, leading to the program check. It was really attempting to branch to the correct 31-bit address 38F85000, which pointed to TMON module TM7N950.
