A06-04 during CICS shutdown when using CA Top Secret

Question

Why am I receiving an Abend A06-04 during shutdown of CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS)? I am using CA Top Secret from CA Technologies.

The CICS region ended with the following messages:

Answer

Applying CA Top Secret PTF ST06140 resolves this abendA06-04

To confirm that this PTF will fix your problem, you will need to set the following SLIP dump on the abend A06 and then recreate the problem:

 SLIP SET,COMP=A06,JOBNAME=cicsregion,A=SVCD,ID=SA06,    
  SDATA=(ALLNUC,PSA,SQA,CSA,LPA,TRT,LSQA,RGN,SUMDUMP),END

In this case, Supervisor/RTM Support reviewed the slip dump for the ABENDA06 and found the following flow under TCB 009FC198 which incurred the abend:

  PRB SVC D  for normal end of task processing                       
 SVRB SVC 14 (CLOSE) issued from IFG0TC0A+151A doing end of task     
      cleanup                                                        
 SVRB SVC 75 DEBCHECK from IDAV200T                                  
 SVRB SVC 08 from PSWA=B817F45C module TSSFSB, a CA Top Secret module
      with R1=3817F44C                                               
 SVRB WAIT in IGWCDPDS

While waiting for I/O to complete in IGWCDPDS+862, an ABEND33E is presented and this causes TCB 9FC198 to enter RTM for abnormal termination.

 SVRB SVC 0C from RTM to drive abnormal O/C/EOV resource cleanup     
  PRB SVC 14 (CLOSE) issued from IFG0TC0A+151A                       
 SVRB SVC 75 DEBCHECK from IDAV200T

      with R1=3817F44C, the same EP as previously in progress        
 SVRB ABENDA06 from CSVABEND+BA2

CA Top Secret is hooking out the SVC table and intercepting the SVC 75. The SVC Table starts at 108BBBA8 and the entry for SVC 75 (+3A8) contains address x'B8026000'. At this storage location we find:

CA Top Secret needs to handle re-entry into its module and prevent the ABENDA06.
