Question
Why does a new CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) region on a new LPAR fail to initialize? This is the last message in the CICS log:
DFHDS0101 Dispatcher cannot enable the CICS post exit
Answer
Message DFHDS0101 is a critical error so CICS is terminated. In this case, the CICS post-exit stub DFHDSPEX is not in the link pack area (LPA). This module must be in the LPA for the CICS region to complete initialization and start running.
