After upgrading to IMS service provider on z/OS Connect EE v3.0.17 with IMS v15, the following exception occurs when executing service request:

J2CA0056I: The Connection Manager received a fatal connection error from the Resource Adapter for resource connectionFactoryÝDTS_CF¨. The exception is: javax.resource.spi.CommException: ICO0005E: com.ibm. connector2.ims.ico.IMSTCPIPManagedConnection@653b18e3.receive() error. A communication error occurred during sending or receiving the IMS message. clientID=ÝGMP9INPP¨ Ýjava.io.EOFException¨

Answer

IMS service provider on z/OS Connect EE v3.0.17 has a defect that causes this issue when sending a request to IMS v15, to resolve please upgrade to the z/OS Connect EE v3.0.18 or the latest version of z/OS Connect EE.
