HI

This error is not produced by the Db2 itself this must be something wrong with your network or this error is produced by your application A 502 Bad Gateway Error is a general indicator that there's something wrong with a website's server not necessary with Db2 communication. Since it's just a generic error, it doesn't actually tell you the website's exact issue.

To test db2 I suggest login direct to server and check whether db2 is up and running and whether it's listening on configured SVCNAME port. Then directly login to Db2 from server and when you will be able to login then this mean that Db2 is fine and you will have to look for the problem somewhere else, generally some problem with network or port causing such issue.

regards Hubert

This is likely an error you received when accessing the Db2 on Cloud web console. (Rather than from your programming language or the Db2 command line tool.) If the console is down, often the server is still up. See if you can connect with your app.

There could be a number of reasons that you got this error:

  • There could be a software update to the Db2 on Cloud console on your machine. Especially if you're not on a high availability plan. If this persists for over 1 hour then I'd contact support.

  • You may be doing a scaling action, and for a certain period the console will be unavailable and it's possible this message will be sent.

There have been a few certain rare occasions, the link from your IBM Cloud account to the Db2 on Cloud console for a particular server stops working. I'd reach out to support if you continue to have this error, and be sure to include your Bluemix username and password.

Another hint is to ensure you "Create Credentials": https://cloud.ibm.com/docs/services/Db2onCloud?topic=Db2onCloud-getting-started Once you have credentials you can directly bookmark the console and log in without going thru the extra steps of logging into IBM Cloud. And, you can use those credentials for various Db2 desktop tools like DBVisualizer, if you use that.
