Who Am I.
I have more than 40 years in systems programming and communications and application systems development; most recent 20 years or so on distributed systems, prior to that including Mainframe systems, starting with OS/MFT, VS1, VS2, and VM/CMS; Series-1 RPS, EDX, AS/400, System-3; DEC PDP-8, 11, VAX; Linux, Ultrix, HPUX, Solaris, AIX.
I've programmed 3705 communications controllers; developed 3270 terminal emulators to compose and interprete native 3270 data streams; written channel programs for System/360, 370, 43xx series. I have worked with MQ predecessors from IBM since the late 70s (Series/1 EDX/CM and RPS/CM), and MQ since 2000. In the early to mid 90s, I consulted on a team in a large international communications company that designed and developed a store-and-forward message switch on the VAX platform, very similar to MQ in architecture.
I have developed C applications (bindings and client mode) for and administered MQ 5.1 through 9.0; understanding of IIB concepts; install/configure/maintain/troubleshoot MQIPT solutions; and work with the MQ appliance (virtual and real) devices. I continue to provide Level1/2/3 support for MQ, IIB, IPT; architecture, design, connectivity, and application support; extensive use of Nastel AutoPilot and APWMQ, and BMC Truesight For Middleware.
I have 5 grown children with 2 still at home :( and 3.5 grandchildren :). I have been a volunteer firefighter and EMT for my 30 years living on Long Island. I dry age my own steaks, concoct my own rubs for ribs and briskets, and make my own corned beef, pastrami (smoked and not smoked), beef jerky; amateur eh-eh cook.
Born and raised in The Bronx; Bronx HS of Science and Baruch College graduate.
