The latest IBM API Connect and DataPower release not only addresses 50 APARs, but it also delivers some new features that our team is excited to share with you:
Red Hat Certified Universal Base Image for Containers
As a follow-up to our exciting tech note about a month ago, API Connect now supports Red Hat Universal Base Image (UBI) with DataPower support coming towards the end of 3Q19. UBI is a RHEL based operating system that allows you to leverage the advantages of open-source technology as well as the benefits of the Red Hat ecosystem. Note that your team can continue running, installing and upgrading IBM API Connect the same exact way as before. The system requirements have not changed either. It’s business as usual with the added benefits of UBI!
Additional APIGW Policies
With the launch of our highly performant DataPower API Gateway (APIGW) we know you will be excited to hear that we have delivered THREE out-of-the-box policies as part of this Fix Pack 7
The new and improved Rate/Burst Limit policy allows you to protect your organization’s backend infrastructure from malicious attacks and capacity overload.
Guard and remove customer sensitive data with the revamped Redact assembly policy!
The new APIGW Log policy lets you fully customize and override the default activity log settings so that you have full control of the granularity of your logs.
Beta Release of Local Test Environment
You spoke and we listened. With the exciting beta release of the IBM API Connect Local Test Environment, you can now host a lightweight API Manager in your local environment! This allows you to rapidly create and test APIs with a new, but intuitive and familiar developer experience. Your development team now can operate independent of your org-wide API Connect cloud(s).
