How can I monitor APM’s component availability?

Hi IBM

Is there a way to monitor APM’s availability? I know I can get a job scheduled that can run the APM STATUS command every 5 mins
and alert me if any of the status is “stopped” or failed.. Is there any other way?

Is there a way similar to below? If not, how would I monitor APM’s availability.. We have ITNM that can be used using
SNMP utils on server to monitor processes however certain processes are java processes and ITNM only gets first 64
characters of the command line.. So we cannot use that as well.

Heart Beat alerts for APM ..

In ITM, we used to setup a “heartbeat alert” to omnibus. the threshold was set against “local time” attribute
of Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server .. ie. If Seconds (Local Time) send event to Omnibus. Omnibus then

had a trigger which pretty much said “If this situation event is NOT received in last 15mins, raise an alert to team X”.

I personally dont think APM allows doing similar thing as APM Server Attribute/Group doesnt exist in Situations. Can you please confirm?

PS – I dont want to use an agent based alert as agent can go down and send us false alerts.

Alert Notification for APM SaaS

APM as-a-Service is integrated with IBM Alert Notification. Can you please provide a detailed documentation for the features available in Alert Notification?

On the following page the only thing I can find are some videos.
