Hey, Floridians! If you missed our Miami meetup yesterday, have no fear. We’ve got another Meetup event scheduled for tonight, January 24, 2019 at the StarterStudio.

Kubernetes is one of the more intimidating and perplexing terms inundating tech blogs and conversations today. We’re hoping to clear up any misinformation and provide some clear guidance around the open source system for managing your containers.

The workshop will start promptly at 7:00pm and will run for several hours (depending on how many attendees we have), so come early to secure a great seat!

By the end of this workshop, you’ll gain an understanding or Kubernetes and should be comfortable enough to start playing around with it for your apps.

Because we want to use as much time as we can with hands on keyboards, the agenda is as follows:

  • Spin up a Kubernetes cluster on IBM Cloud or set up fallback options (10-20 mins)
  • During the above, the academic portion will be running (30-45 mins)
  • Hands on keyboards (60 mins)
  • Any lessons learned and sharing with the group (10 mins)

Here’s the doc that we’ll be using for the workshop event: https://ibm.gitlab.io/docs/kube101/

If you have any questions before the event (whether it be on parking, logistics, or things you want to make sure the speakers cover) join the conversation thread at the Meetup link.

So don’t forget to bring your laptop, questions, and an open mind! We’ll dive right into Kubernetes. See you there!
