About deployments

Many tech for good initiatives and hackathons produce amazing prototypes, but the story ends there. Every Call for Code winner has a future. We have a programmatic approach to deploying the best code with an ecosystem of non-profits, governments, and businesses to bring open source solutions to communities with the greatest need.

People are saying

“I love the fact that Call for Code is unlike a typical hackathon and actually takes the best solutions and works with their partner ecosystem to deploy these in communities.”

Deployment process

The Call for Code Global Challenge is where life-changing ideas are created and built by developers. Call for Code winning solutions are deployed with support from IBM and partners like The Linux Foundation, Arrow Electronics, and more. During the deployment period, teams receive hands-on support to fortify, test, and implement their project, with an emphasis on open source principles.

Start contributing

When teams have completed deployment, they are ready to take steps to make the solution, or a portion of it, open source through The Linux Foundation. This helps build a sustainable ecosystem of developers, stakeholders, and partners that can accelerate technology development and industry adoption.
