IBM Technical Support Update

IBM is taking actions to improve your Support experience! As part of our Support Transformation, we want to make sure we’re able to keep you informed of any upcoming changes.

Due to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) restrictions that go into affect later this week, it will now be necessary for you to sign up for My Notifications if you would like to receive support information about the IBM products you use.

Subscribing to My Notifications is easy and allows you to receive information in the way you choose for the products you choose:

1. Log onto My Notifications with your IBM ID

2. Choose your Delivery Preferences

  • Daily or weekly emails
  • Plain text or HTML formatted emails
  • If you prefer to use an RSS or Atom feed, uncheck the box next to your email address

3. Select your product(s) and the content types you want to be notified about. For example:

  • News: non-urgent product related information and announcements
  • Flashes: alert notifications for more urgent product related issues
  • Red Alerts: critical actions be taken immediately (for product “z/OS family – all hardware, OS, and related software” only)

We hope you will also consider connecting with us on one or more of our IBM Z software social media channels or Cloud Technical Support social media channels (for products like WebSphere Application Server and IBM MQ) to receive the latest news and updates about IBM products and technical support. It’s likely that we’ll provide the same support updates that you’ll receive if you sign up for My Notifications on our Twitter channels.

You can also read and bookmark this blog, IBM is transforming Support, to learn more about our Support Transformation. As of May 2018, many of our IBM distributed products have migrated to the new system and we’re planning on moving the remaining IBM software products including all IBM Z products to the new system later this year.

Thank you for using IBM products. We’ll do our best to keep you up-to-date so that you can get the most out of the IBM products you use!
