Learn about the key features of CAM and how they relate to CAM Development.
Key features of Cloud Automation Manager
Templates Cloud infrastructure templates are written in Terraform and the Terraform engine is used to deploy and manage these templates.
CAM Variables Template parameters describe how each Terraform parameter is to be displayed and consumed, for example, if a parameter is a password or not. CAM variables are described in an editable, proprietary format.
Orchestration Services CAM includes an orchestration engine which provides a language to describe the orchestration flow needed to deploy and manage services.
Cloud Connections Cloud connections describe the necessary connection parameters to connect to supported clouds.
Content Runtime The Content Runtime is a collection of Chef, Software Repository and the Pattern Manager which run on a series of docker containers. The Content Runtime may be deployed from a Terraform template.
Template Management Once deployed, CAM provides an interface to manage day 2 operations via the Terraform Plan/Apply feature
