Accelerate your deep learning journey using GPUs

Even though deep learning algorithms were invented in the mid 60’s, its significant breakthrough did not happen until 1999 – the year in which GPUs were invented. The need for GPUs in building a deep learning model has been mentioned to a great extent that these terminologies have become synonymous to each other. In this session, we will build a movie recommendation engine and perform model training two ways. You will learn:

  • The differences between CPUs and GPus
  • How to train the movie recommendation engine on CPUs
  • How to train the movie recommendation engine on GPUs with Watson Machine Learning Accelerator
  • Compare performances on CPU vs GPU
