Yesterday, we deployed an important change to our iOS push notification APIs. We now support a 2k bytes payload for iOS, making it possible for our customers to send much more data to the device through every push notification.

Typical examples for using more data in each payload include sending longer URLs (no need to shorten your URLs any more), sending additional data for custom interpretation inside the app (e.g. send campaign name, and use it in your digital analytics reports for easier interpretation)

Note this change is available for notifications sent to all iOS devices, and is not limited to only iOS 8 devices.
