Step-by-step

  1. In Watson Campaign Automation, go to Development > Mobile Apps > Apps.

  2. Click New app to create a new application. The New app page opens.

  3. Enter the name of the app that will send notifications.

  4. Enter a brief description of the app.

  5. Choose Production or Development type.

  6. Select your Push Service (GCM, APNS or WNS) type.

    • For Android, enter the Google API key. This key was provided when you created your Google API project with Google Cloud Messaging (GCM).
    • For iOS, upload the Certificate file and enter the Certificate password. These were provided when the app was registered with Apple. If the Developer creates a new app and the app key information (ie. certificate information) does not match the correct environment type (Production vs. Development) of that app, a detailed error message displays when they try to save the app.
    • For WNS, enter the Package Security Identifier (SID) and the Client Secret. The SID is provided from the Windows Developer Center for the app. The Default Time Zone is automatically set to the time zone selected in your Campaign Automation User Profile. It can be changed by selecting another time zone from the list.

If the Developer creates a new app and the app key information (ie. certificate information) does not match the correct environment type (Production vs. Development) of that app, a detailed error message displays when they try to save the app.

  7. Click Save. The Apps page displays a list of all the apps that have been created. Users can edit existing apps using the Edit button in the Action column.
