Last week at IBM InterConnect, I bumped in to Alan Kan, the New Zealand Technical Leader for IBM Cloud Software and Digital Innovation who also happens to teach classes at Unitec Institute of Technology. We had a brief moment of mutual admiration where we both said to each other, “I’m so happy to meet you! I love your videos!” We quickly moved past that and began chatting about how he uses DevOps Services to teach agile principles to his students. I thought all of you might enjoy hearing the conversation, so I grabbed a friend who recorded it for us:
After the camera stopped rolling, we discussed what a big time saver using DevOps Services can be. When I was a teaching assistant for a Software Engineering course, one of the biggest pains was managing the source control and bug tracking servers. DevOps Services takes care of all of the server management annoyances, so educators only have to focus on educating (what a concept!).
I highly recommend taking a few minutes to watch Alan’s videos. He does a fabulous job of explaining how he does agile development by leveraging IBM Bluemix DevOps Services:
