Prescriptive Analytics algorithms are now accessible through the Python language and in the Bluemix Analytics for Spark service!
The CPLEX Modeling for Python project lets you create an optimization problem to solve using either our cloud-based service, DOcplexcloud, or a local installation of CPLEX Studio. Some goals of the project are to popularize mathematical optimization and constraint programming and to make them accessible to data specialists or AI specialists. At the same time, we want to address the needs of our existing operations research customers who are seeking a new programming language with a very active ecosystem.
Using a simple
pip install and a subscription to DOcplexcloud, you can rapidly start creating optimization-based scripts to recommend actions based on desired outcomes, taking into account specific scenarios, resources, and knowledge of past and current events.
This free package can run in any notebook environment (Jupyter, Zeppelin). Jupyter is currently our targeted environment with fully documented tutorials coming soon.
Numerous online resources (documentation, tutorials, samples…) help a beginner in Python and/or in Optimization to start easily.
