IBM Watson Studio includes several contributions from IBM Decision Optimization. The contributions depend on the Watson Studio platform.
Watson Studio Cloud
In Watson Studio Cloud you have access to multiple Jupyter Notebooks and our DOcplex Python Modeling API. To use the Notebooks in Watson Studio Cloud, you need a DOcplexcloud API key. You can register for a free trial.
Watson Studio Local
In Watson Studio Local you have a similar set of Jupyter Notebooks and the DOcplex Python Modeling API. You also have access to the Community Edition of the CPLEX engines. This makes it possible to solve problems with up to 1000 constraints and 1000 variables, or with a search space of 1000 X 1000 for constraint programming problems.
Upgrading Decision Optimization in Watson Studio Local
Watson Studio Local ships with its own Decision Optimization private cloud service. This service requires a DOcplexcloud Local API key for use with larger models. You can upgrade by contacting your IBM sales representative.
Watson Studio Desktop
In Watson Studio Desktop you have access to similar features as DSX Local, that is, a set of Jupyter Notebooks, the DOcplex Modeling API, and the Community Edition of the CPLEX engines. You can solve problems with up to 1000 constraints and 1000 variables, or with a search space of 1000 X 1000 for constraint programming problems.
Upgrading Decision Optimization in Watson Studio Desktop
For problems larger than 1000 constraints and 1000 variables (or a search space over 1000 X 1000), you need either a trial account or a subscription to DOcplexcloud.
