I’m an Adoption Leader on the IBM Watson and Cloud Platform team. Our mission is to assist clients, large & small, in adopting the IBM Watson and Cloud services. Our team has started a joint blog to keep our clients informed and up-to-date on what’s happening across the IBM Watson and Cloud Platform.
Each week, I and my fellow IBM Watson and Cloud Adoption Leaders will blog via the IBM developerWorks site, bringing you links to interesting articles, tutorials and the latest news to keep you up-to-date on the IBM Watson and Cloud Platform. The advantage of this is that you will get a varied and global perspective each week. All you need to do is just click this link to subscribe.
What’s New this week in IBM Watson and Cloud Platform:
Discovery: Confidence Scores are now available in Watson Discovery
Conversation: Conversation allows you to deploy to channels (think: Slack, Messenger)
NLU (Natural Language Understanding):
- Customers have been interested in getting the exact location in their text where an entity is mentioned. Now you can do it by adding the
"mentions":trueto the request under the entities section. The API response will contain an array of begin and end offsets pointing to the location of the entity within the text. You can try it out by copying the following example into the Watson NLU API Explorer and clicking on the “Try it Out” button:
"text":"The American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology have released new treatment guidelines that sharply lower the threshold for high blood pressure, also called hypertension. As a result, tens of millions of Americans now qualify for the diagnosis.",
- NLU now fully supports the Korean language! Language support documentation for NLU
IBM Cloud Compose: The IBM Cloud Compose API now offers a REST endpoint for managing each IBM Cloud Compose deployment.
