Join Spencer Krum, IBM Software Developer and esports enthusiast, in this live coding event to learn how he uses Jupyter Notebooks and IBM Data Science Experience to analyze professional StarCraft II matches. These games are played at the absolute top of the esports skill cap. He will load the replay into IBM DSX, process it with open source python code, and create code to graphically visualize complex fast-action player activity at distinct points in the game, and then extract interesting insights about the winners and losers.
Spencer Krum is a developer advocate inside IBM’s Digital Business Group. He has worked in several Open Source communities including Vox Pupuli and OpenStack. Spencer helped with the DevOps meetup in Portland as well as DevOpsDays PDX. Now living in Minneapolis, Spencer is a data scientist in training, working on the rich data produced by competitive esports. Spencer has been speaking and writing on tech since 2013.
