Developers have revolutionized the way people live and interact with virtually everyone and everything. Where most people see challenges, developers see possibilities. Join us on 6th of July to use your skills and mastery of the latest technologies to drive positive and long-lasting change across the world with your code.
The Call for Code Global Initiative calls on YOU to create practical, effective, and high-quality applications based on cloud, data, and artificial intelligence that can have an immediate and lasting impact on humanitarian issues.
Answer the Call for Code 2019 to create solutions that significantly improve readiness for natural disasters and accelerate relief when they hit. For this edition, the emphasis is on individual health and community well-being during or after natural disasters (earthquakes and other potential catastrophes like slides, floods). This includes solutions that can:
* reduce the risk of disease
* improve access to data and the availability of resources and
* address the mental health needs of those impacted before, during, and after disasters.
During our #CallforCode hackathon, we call on you to invest a few hours of your time into brainstorming, designing, building and submitting a natural disaster readiness application prototype. Enthusiastic Victor Rentea (Java Champion and Software Craftsman) joined our cause and will passionately share his insights about microservices. Hans Boef, IBM Developer Advocate will wholehearted accompany teams efforts as a mentor. This event will be moderated by Ana-Maria Mihalceanu and several public personalities are expected to be with us throughout the day.
Call for Code is more than a global challenge, it’s YOUR opportunity to make a lasting change for social good.
