Good Tech Scholars Program – Spring 2021

Are you passionate about mentorship? Do you have an interest in helping the next generation of tech professionals? Does taking part in innovation excite you? If you answered yes to any of these questions then do we have an incredible opportunity for you!

We are looking for 12 mentors to coach and support teams of college students through our Good Tech Scholars Program. This 4-week virtual learning program was designed for students to work together and solve real-world challenges using the latest technologies from IBM’s Data and AI organization. Throughout the program, students will build key industry skills through online learning and hands-on workshops, and build up their resumes with virtual badges and credentials to show their knowledge of AI, design thinking, professional skills, and more.  Additionally, with guidance from you – their mentor – and industry experts, students will work in teams of 4-5 to develop and present a code-based solution that addresses one of our three themes to a panel of judges. The program culminates with a celebration of all they have learned and bragging rights for the top 3 teams!

Below are some important details about the program:

Mentor Prep Session: March 2, 2021
Time Commitment for Mentors: March 22, 2021 – April 16, 2021; 5-8 hours per week in the afternoons (PT)
# of Students Participating: Max of 60 working in teams of 4-5
# of Mentors Needed: 12 (1 mentor per team of 4-5 students) + 5 back-ups
