Hackathons using Node-RED and low-code – 1/3

December 31, 2020

Node-RED for the win!
I have mentored at a dozen hackathons and have recommended Node-RED for quick prototyping and demos in every one of them. Node-RED is flow based development tool that can be used by developers with different levels of experience. I have seen non developers use this tool to create backends and service layers. Come join me as I show you some of the use cases in this action packed series. You will get to work with me hands-on and learn a new tool!

๐ŸŽ“ Session 1 [August 3] – Get more effective in Hackathons using Node-RED and low-code
You will get a in-depth introduction to Node-RED in this first webinar. We will see how easy it is to create backend services on Node-RED. We will build a service that talks to a database

๐ŸŽ“ Session 2 [August 5] – Fast prototyping on Node-RED
Did you know you can use Node-RED to build front end as well! We will build a dashboard to use the backend services we build in the first session without writing any code. We will then use templates to build a more dynamic front end.

๐ŸŽ“ Session 3 [August 6] – Intermediate Node-RED: create your own nodes
In this final session, we will look a how to build your own nodes from scratch. After this session, you will be able to create nodes to share with your teams or the Node-RED community in general.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ’ป Who should attend?
The series is meant for developers, designers, product folks who want to create applications quickly with Node-RED.
๐ŸŒŸ developers looking for a quick prototyping tool
๐ŸŒŸ designers with some javascript knowledge looking to create backend services
๐ŸŒŸ anybody looking for a low-code solution that makes programming fun!
