The Oxford Foundry, University of Oxford’s entrepreneurship centre, will be running their annual AI Impact Weekend on climate change from 07-11 February 2020 in collaboration with EY. This hackathon-style competition that will convene 100+ Oxford students from different disciplines, senior academics and industry experts to build tech-enabled solutions to climate change together. Following skills workshops and a weekend of solution building, student teams will pitch their solutions to a panel of expert judges. The finalists will be provided with follow-on support to help develop their solutions further. Three prizes will be awarded: an international trip for the winning team and two cash prizes for the best technical solution and the best business case. Previous winning teams have been on a week-long trip to Silicon Valley and a networking and learning opportunity at EY’s Strategic Growth Forum in California’s Palm Springs.
