This week, we announced the public availability of the IBM Cloud for Financial Services.

What is it?

  • IBM Cloud for Financial Services is an API and data exchange that brings together FinTech and financial services institutions to rapidly build the finance apps of the future.
  • Developers can share innovative applications, APIs, data and content on a secure, cloud platform designed for banks, financial market institutions, and insurance companies.
  • Developers can build with our finance APIs, partner APIs, and IBM’s leading technologies like blockchain, cognitive analytics, and big data.

What do developers have access to now?

  • A financial services focused section of IBM Bluemix – console.ng.bluemix.net/finance
  • 5 new IBM Algorithmics APIs. Algorithimics is a market leader in investment risk management, and these new APIs give developers access to high value risk capabilities such as stress testing portfolios and historical pricing. Learn more.
  • Partner APIs and data services from FirstData (payments), Plaid (ACH payments), Riskspan (security data), Accern (sentiment analysis), and Xignite (security data) with more to come.
  • Two “starter kits” that show scenarios of how the APIs can be used to solve a need with sample code and demo videos. These kits help developers learn the APIs quickly and inspire additional use cases.
  • Clients and fintechs can visit our engagement centers in London, Singapore, NY, and San Francisco to participate in workshops, classes, and briefings.
    • Clients who have an application concept in mind can work with the teams to develop an MVP and prototype of their app.
    • Fintech can develop starter kits that showcase their APIs and services.
