Today (Sept 13, 2017) we are announcing the GA of IBM Big SQL Sandbox
What is IBM Big SQL Sandbox?
IBM Big SQL sandbox is a downloadable application that is available here. It is a quick and easy personal desktop environment to get started on learning, developing, testing and trying out new features of IBM Big SQL.
The sandbox is a single node docker image with IBM Big SQL and Hortonworks Data platform preconfigured. To enhance the learning experience we have included sample data, tutorial and an exercise for you to complete.
Get up and running in 30 minutes!
The sandbox takes you step by step through a sample, easy to understand use case where a data analyst uses IBM Big SQL to provide business answers to the executive team by leveraging Big SQL’s SQL-on-hadoop capabilities.
As a next step, the sandbox comes with an exercise for you to complete and provide answers to the questions asked in the exercise.
The environment mainly leverages Apache Hadoop File System, Apache Hive Catalog, Apache Zeppeline and IBM Big SQL.
