Lets start 2019 with some exciting news!
It was a great year for IBM’s Db2 and Big data team. We heard our customers (you) and took some strategic decisions for the product. We are determined to do the same for 2019. With that spirit in mind, we would like to share some interesting updates….
Events:
IBM Think 2019 is just around the corner, from Feb 11th – 15th, 2019 at Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA.
At Think, we have dedicated a day (Feb 11th) just for you, our customers, to meet with product teams and also learn about what’s new in the product, strategy, and roadmap. We will also be having a feedback session where you can share your experiences directly with the product teams.
Various focus areas are available. Of which, we would like you to participate in the Hybrid Data Management area where Db2, Big Data: Db2 Big SQL & Big Replicate will be part of.

Hortonworks Data Platform v3.1 and Hortonworks DataFlow v3.3.1 are now available from IBM for downloads.
Hortonworks released the production ready version of the latest Hadoop platform with product versions HDP v3.1 and HDF v3.3.1. Click HERE for announcement and details on the component versions that are packaged in this release.

Db2 Big SQL v6.0 (on HDP v3.1) is getting ready for release.. watch out for updates on this at Think 2019 and other exciting news…
Production ready version of Hadoop 3 platform HDP 3.1 is now available. As many customers are evaluating and planning the migration to the new platform, we will make Db2 Big SQL available on this new platform with some new capabilities. Look for the announcement and give it a try and give us feedback.
