Please walk us through your entrepreneurial journey and background before you started? Any interesting stories?
I started my first company in 1991 – called Tejas Lamps but it never took off. I tried again in 2000 in the Valley trying to build a portal for embedded system enthusiasts but the funding fell through. So I decided at the age of 45 that this would be my last attempt. After reviewing several ideas, started Ideyeah Solutions which has now morphed into Opteamize Cloud Solutions Pvt. Ltd., India’s 1st IBM Coding School!
About founding team
I am a single founder.
Tell us little about your product/ platform
We have 2 products as part of the Opteamize SaaS elearning platform a) Codemate – This has several modules to help the student learn to code, assess their technical skills and accelerate their chances of being recruited. b) Coming soon in October – Live Project – This is possibly the world’s only platform built for the student academic projects. Here students build mobile, web or IoT apps using Bluemix services and host their app on IBM Cloud.
Tell us about your customer traction
We have 9 partners who have opted to use our platform. This year we expect about 2000 students to use our platform and built their projects.
How has been your association with IBM Global Entrepreneur? How important do you think IBM Global Entrepreneur is to help and improve the ecosystem?
Wonderful. The credits and support provided helped us to stay afloat during the early days.
What’s your take on the IBM Cloud? How is it helping your start-up grow?
We were possibly one of the earliest to move to IBM Bluemix and Softlayer and also IBM Cloudant. The ability to quickly try out new features and present them to customers is one reason that Bluemix has been so useful to us.
What is your road ahead for your start-up?
We are in talks with IBM University Relations to use our Live Project product as an IBM endorsed Student Academic Project Platform.
Using projects from the IBM library/journal/developerWorks. We also plan to add 5-6 more partners in the cities of Hyderabad, Chennai and Gurugram.
