What’s included in a conference pass?
Conference registration includes admittance to both the Community and Workshop Day on February 20th, and the Index – San Francisco conference days on February 21st and 22nd.
I am a Student; can I register to attend?
College/Postsecondary Students are welcome to register and attend the Community and Workshop Day on February 20th, and the Index – San Francisco conference days on February 21st and 22nd. There is no charge for student admission. Select “Student” as your attendee type. Please bring your valid student identification from a recognized post-secondary educational institution to pick up your conference badge. Student registration does not include Wednesday evening Index Bash event.
Is there an Academic Rate for Faculty members?
There is no discounted rate for Faculty members.
What is the payment policy?
A credit card is the method of payment for Index – San Francisco. If an alternate method for payment is needed, please e-mail email@example.com.
I received a promo code. How do I apply it to my registration?
If you have not yet registered, begin your registration and follow the instructions to insert the code into the promo code field. Click “Apply” to recalculate your registration balance. Promo codes are not applied to registrations retroactively. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Can I bring a guest?
Guests will not be permitted to attend any activities.
I can no longer attend. What is the refund and cancellation policy?
Cancellations prior to January 2, 2018: full refund. January 3, 2018 – January 19, 2018: refund less 50% of paid conference fee. No refunds for cancellations after January 19, 2018.
All requests must be sent via email to email@example.com and received by 11:59pm PT on the dates noted in order to be valid. Please reference your registration confirmation number on your request.
Is there a Transfer/Substitution Policy?
You may substitute the name on your paid registration prior to January 2, 2018 at no additional cost. Substitutions after January 2, 2018 will incur a $50 processing fee. Original attendee should email firstname.lastname@example.org with the request. A transfer code will be provided for the new attendee.
Where should I stay?
Special rates have been arranged at preferred hotels within walking distance to Moscone West. Select Yes to ‘hotel needed’ question during registration and customer service will send booking details with your confirmation e-mail. Find out more about the hotels.
I am registered for the conference, but did not book my hotel. How do I add a hotel reservation?
Is there a deadline to make my hotel reservation by?
Yes, there is a cutoff date at both the Hilton Union Square and Marriott Marquis. Check out the hotel page for details.
When does Call for Speakers open?
The Call for Speakers opened on October 25, 2017. By speaking at this new event, you’ll have the opportunity to educate and inspire peers while establishing yourself as a leader in the developer community. Submit proposal.
When does Call for Speakers close?
The Call for Speakers will close on December 8, 2017 at 6:00pm PST.
If I am selected as a speaker, when will I be notified?
Decisions will be communicated beginning December 15th.

What do I need to bring with me to the conference?
Please bring a government issued photo ID to verify your identity at the event. Oh – and of course, your laptop and all the necessary cords.
Is there an age limit to participate in the Index – San Francisco conference?
Infants and young children, even under the supervision or care of an adult, may not attend any of the Conference activities. This includes all sessions, meal functions, meeting and exposition space, and any other event activity. Index – San Francisco does welcome college/secondary student participation at conference sessions. Student registration excludes the Wednesday evening Index Bash. There may be activities where individuals under the age of 21 may not attend.
Dress as you’d like! Business casual is fine, more emphasis on casual. We expect most of the audience will be in jeans and hoodies.
Conference badges must be visible at all times and is required for admittance to all conference activities for security purposes.
Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
Dietary restrictions and allergies are considered when planning menus for the conference. Special meal requests will be incorporated into the food & beverage menus. Photography & Video Production
Videotaping and/or recording of the conference sessions is not permitted. No part of the conference or presentation or other materials may be reproduced, recorded, videotaped, disseminated or distributed in any form or by any means, or stored or redistributed in whole or in part without the prior written permission of Event Organizer. Photo-taking is permissible, but will be discouraged if obtrusive to speakers.
