You can view logs for the resources that are running in your integration servers on IBM® App Connect on IBM Cloud™ within a built-in log viewer. You can also extend your logging capability by forwarding your logs to a configured IBM Log Analysis with LogDNA service instance in IBM Cloud. The IBM Log Analysis with LogDNA service offers benefits such as centralized logging, advanced filtering and searching, alerting, graphing, and archiving.
The following instructions assume that you’ve already uploaded one or more BAR files to App Connect on IBM Cloud and started the integration servers.
Viewing your logs in the log viewer
- To view and manage event messages that are logged for all your integration servers, open the App Connect menu and then click Manage > Logs to open the log viewer. You’ll see entries for each event that was logged for your integration servers (and your flows) in individual rows. You can sort, filter, search, refresh, and export the data as described in Accessing the log viewer for all your running flows.
- To view and manage event messages for a specific integration server within the log viewer, click the integration server’s tile on the dashboard, and then click View logs on the Contents tab.
When the log viewer opens, you’ll see a filtered view of log entries that pertain to that integration server only, based on the “flow ID” that’s assigned to the integration server.
If you’d like to see log entries for all your running integration servers (and flows), you can remove the Flow ID filter query by clicking the Build a query to filter logs icon and then clicking Delete all conditions. For more information, see Accessing the log viewer for all your running flows.
Viewing your logs in IBM Log Analysis with LogDNA
To view logs for your integration servers in an IBM Log Analysis with LogDNA instance in IBM Cloud, you must first configure the instance to receive logs from enabled services in IBM Cloud. For more information, see Configuring IBM Log Analysis with LogDNA to receive logs from App Connect.
You can then view the logs by directly accessing the IBM Log Analysis with LogDNA web UI in IBM Cloud. You’ll see entries for each event that was logged for your integration servers, as well as your flows.
