This course provides the following sections, which guide you from one to the next. You can return to this page at any time as the course storyboard and to access any section directly.

Introduction

New to integration or IBM App Connect?

This section gives you an introduction to what integration is and why it’s important for businesses of all sizes and industries. It introduces the core integration use cases and demonstrate how App Connect supports businesses in delivering on these use cases.

Capabilities

This section gives you an introduction to the key capabilities that App Connect offers and the different editions available.

Create an integration

This section gives you an introduction to what an integration is in IBM App Connect, with an example scenario, and how easy it is to create an integration as an event-driven flow.

In App Connect, creating is just configuring; there’s no need for coding (unless you want to do something extra special).

Time to get hands on App Connect, and complete the integration…

Complete the integration

This section gives you a hands-on walkthrough to show you how easy it is to complete an integration from scratch, as an event-driven flow, for the example scenario outlined in “Create an integration”. (In App Connect, completing an integration is easier from a template or by importing a flow definition file, but creating from scratch provides more of a learning experience.)

Done! Let’s test the integration and explore more options for running and managing flows.

Test and manage the integration

Use the integration to do what you created it for.

This section gives you a hands-on walkthrough to show you how easy it is to test the integration to show that the event-driven flow does what you created it for, and to show techniques for managing integrations using the App Connect dashboard and IBM Cloud capabilities.

Create an API

This section starts with an introduction to using APIs for an integration scenario and how App Connect helps with creating APIs. The following sections take you through the steps to create an API for the example scenario, to show you how easy it is to create an API in App Connect.

Complete the API

This section gives you an introduction to how easy it is to create and manage an API in IBM App Connect. It takes you through the steps to create an API for a “hello world”-like example scenario.

Done! Let’s test the API and explore more options for running and managing flows.

Test and manage the API

This section introduces the different ways you can manage the API and walks you though how to use the embedded API management capabilities in App Connect to test and manage the API.
