IBM is continually enhancing the security standards and controls within Watson IoT Platform based upon interactions with our clients as well as market-leading innovations pioneered by IBM Research.

IBM recently announced that the Watson IoT Platform will have advanced security features. The advanced features will provide visibility of possible exposures across the IoT landscape and automatic operational responses tailored to individual customer environments.

The Watson IoT Platform will be providing advanced security capabilities through a Risk and Security Overview Dashboard and policies.

The Dashboard will help security administrators and operations personnel quickly understand the security posture of their IoT deployment according to policies that they have configured within the Platform.  We will be hosting a beta program
for this capability that will run throughout November to December 16th, 2016. Willing participants can sign up at any time!

The beta is targeted at Security Analysts and IoT Operations personnel responsible for and interested in securing their IoT deployments.  Beta participants can expect, on average, a 1-hour weekly commitment to participate in a weekly
meeting to learn about the features and an additional hour at your convenience to test the functionality in your environment.

Topics to be covered during the weekly meetings :dashexample

  • Security Dashboard and Policy overview
  • Certificate Management
  • Connection Security
  • Black Lists / White Lists

By participating in this program, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback to the development team to improve the product, gain advanced insight and experience with the product release under development, and receive assistance during your testing.

Your feedback is important as we work through the development process preparing this product for general availability.
