Use the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center (TPC) Insight Pack to analyze TPC Server Alert messages in Operations Analytics – Log Analysis. This includes dashboards providing a graphical view reflecting the flow and rate of TPC alerts. You can then drill down to view the alert content in order to take proscriptive actions to address concerns before they become storage related problems.
In addition to the insight pack content, a Log Agent service is also provided to collect log messages from your TPC Servers and send them to IBM Operations Analytics â€“ Log Analysis. The Log Agent service is installed on and runs from the Log Analysis server.
To include TPC alert messages in Operations Analytics – Log Analysis, two key components need to be in place:
Log Agent service: This included process will collect the alert logs from the TPC Servers at regular time intervals. Multiple installations of the Log Agent are allowed and can be run side-by-side such that you may configure one TPC Server for each Log Agent installation.
Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Insight Pack: Containing the resources (splitter, annotator, dashboards and search) needed to ingest alert messages into Log Analysis and provide the operational visual dashboards.
