The F5 BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager (GTM) Insight Pack gives customers support to ingest data from various F5 BIG-IP GTM logs into IBM Operations Analytics – Log Analysis. They can then use a rich set of analytical dashboards to visualize metadata and derived metrics from log content, along with performing additional queries on the content.
F5 BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager Events Dashboard
This dashboard displays the GTM events data based on the log level. The first chart displays data distributed on the log level for all the events logged in F5 BIG-IP GTM log file. Second chart displays important events distributed over the time period.
F5 BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager Component Status Dashboard
This dashboard displays the GTM component status charts for the configured time period. The two charts display the data for component status up and component status down distributed over the time.
The Insight Pack includes support for ingesting and performing metadata searches against the following log files.
- F5 BIG-IP GTM Log: gtmÂ (default file name)
Note: The F5 BIG-IP GTM system logs messages related to the health monitor in the /var/log/gtm file. Reviewing the log files is one way to determine the frequency with which the system is marking down a pool, pool member, server, or a virtual server.
