Fix pack 35 is now available from the Downloads page. This refresh contains the April 2019 Oracle critical patch update, which includes, amongst other things, support for the new Japanese era name.

This refresh also includes the following enhancements:

  • An updated version of the Eclipse OpenJ9 VM, including the following changes:
    • A new option, -XX:[+|-]IgnoreUnrecognizedXXColonOptions, for ignoring or reporting unrecognized -XX: options.
    • A new option, -XX:[+|-]ReadIPInfoForRAS, for allowing or preventing a network query being used to determine the host name and IP address, to avoid application timeouts.
    • A new experimental option, -XX:[+|-]JITInlineWatches, to improve the performance of JVMTI watched fields. Currently available on x86 operating systems (Windows®, macOS®, and Linux®), this option has been seen to improve performance for adding field watches by around 40 times, and for removing field watches by around 15 times.
    • Concurrent scavenge mode is now supported on Linux on IBM® POWER® BE.
  • Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and Windows Server 2019.
  • Support for SafeNet Luna 7 cards with the IBM PKCS11 cryptographic provider.
  • IBM fixes to the code base.
