While IBM used to have its own SDK for Node.js, we have now donated our work back to the Node.js community. So, when you download Node.js from the community, you reap the benefit of IBM’s work in the project.
What does that mean for you? It means that in many cases you can just download Node.js binaries for IBM platforms in the same way you do for other platforms.
We do have a select number of SDKs still available for IBM i and IBM z/OS.
Instructions for downloading Node.js
Need instructions? In our learning path, we describe 3 ways that you can download Node.js to your system.
Download the IBM i Node.js SDK
If you want to use IBM i with Node.js, use our RPM, which bundles our Node.js SDK with other supported open source packages. The installation is simple and you’ll be sure that Node.js will work well in your IBM i environment.
Download the IBM SDK for Node.js – z/OS
IBM SDK for Node.js – z/OS, at no license charge, and optional paid support, provides a secure, module-driven, highly scalable approach to accelerate digital transformation on IBM Z. With applications typically developed in a shorter time and with fewer lines of code, Node.js can enable enterprise clients to efficiently augment existing IBM Z® application stacks to provide a timely response to customer requirements driven by digital transformation.
