SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) is a new feature on IBM LinuxONE. The SIMD accelerator is integrated into LinuxONE Central Processing Units (CPUs) and programmed using a new set of instructions. These instructions have been specialized for integer, string and floating point data to allow processing efficiency.
The Community Cloud has implemented the latest service to enable virtual server to exploit the Vector Facility for providing Single-Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) support.
