Understanding Virtual Private Cloud

Hybrid Cloud graphic

IBM Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is an all new Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform for enabling workload isolation on the IBM public cloud. A VPC offers the isolation and security of a private cloud combined with the availability, cost effectiveness, and scalability of the public cloud. Learn more about IBM VPC

VPC supports GPU accelerated and cloud native Virtual Server Instances (VSIs) on POWER side-by-side with general purpose compute on x86. With a new control plane, CLIs and APIS, developers can easily build and deploy heterogeneous cloud native apps to get the best performance and economics available in the Cloud. You can also easily deploy cloud native and AI/ML/DL apps with standard Terraform automation.

Putting POWER in the cloud to work

Deep Learning and AI

On demand, pay-for-use, access to NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPUs with compute processing power that’s optimized for deep learning and AI workloads.

High performance cloud native applications

Leverage an ecosystem of Linux on POWER applications to build high performance services that take advantage of wider memory bandwidth, faster network IO, and 2x processor threads.

Hybrid integration to extend traditional applications

Modernize internal corporate applications with cloud-native services, provide additional capacity or plan for peak capacity by securely extending on-premises data center networks into IBM Cloud VPC.
