IBM® z Systems® Development and Test Environment provides a platform for mainframe application demonstration, development, testing, and employee education. It enables z/OS, middleware and other z/OS software to run on Intel and Intel-compatible platforms without the need for z Systems mainframe hardware.
We are excited to announce that zD&T v22.214.171.124 is generally available today. This release includes a Fix Pack for reported issues, along with new beta functionality that will be officially supported in the next version.
This beta functionality provides a set of RESTful APIs which can be used to automate the creation and deployment of z/OS environments. This can be done using data from an existing mainframe, an ADCD install, or an existing zD&T environment. Additionally, this beta supports the deployment of zD&T to target environments using a non-root account, requiring sudo permission.
These are only some of the recent updates — a full list of features and fixes in v126.96.36.199 can be found here.
Please contact Teresa Ge (firstname.lastname@example.org) for information on the beta capability of the RESTful APIs and sudo support added in 188.8.131.52.
